poLight ASA to Showcase TWedge® Pixel-Shifting Tech for AR Projectors at CES 2025

poLight ASA is set to showcase its cutting-edge tunable optics technology, the TWedge® wobulator pixel-shifting system, at CES® 2025, to be held from January 7 to 10, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In partnership with Texas Instruments and Coretronic, poLight will demonstrate a groundbreaking development that merges their advanced technologies to improve the augmented reality (AR) user experience, particularly for head-worn devices like AR glasses. The joint demonstration, taking place at poLight’s executive suite at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel, will highlight how this innovation resolves several key challenges in AR microdisplay design.

At the core of the demonstration is poLight’s latest TWedge® wobulator TS3 (Technical Samples Revision 3), a high-performance pixel-shifting technology. The system will be paired with a Texas Instruments DLP® digital micromirror device (DMD) and Coretronic’s light engine projection technology. The result is an ultra-compact, high-quality projection system capable of delivering an enhanced user experience that addresses common issues in AR displays, such as low resolution, screen door effects, and motion blur, without introducing audible noise. The demo will feature a live projection, running at 120Hz, using the TI 960×540 DLP® DMD, which offers a clearer, more fluid image that brings the “human eye experience” to AR applications.
