ISG Launches Study on Technology Providers for Agribusiness and Chemicals Industries
Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a prominent global technology research and advisory firm, has commenced an in-depth study evaluating technology solution providers for the agribusiness and chemicals industries. These closely aligned sectors are undergoing rapid transformation as they adopt new technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability. The results of this study will be published in April 2025 in two detailed ISG Provider Lens™ reports—Agribusiness and Chemicals Services and Solutions 2025—which will cover both the U.S. and Brazilian markets.
The reports will assess service providers offering consulting, implementation, integration, supply chain, logistics, sustainability, and digital IT/OT solutions. These providers are expected to utilize advanced technologies such as AI, ERP, IoT, advanced networks, blockchain, analytics, and automation, all with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and data management, to enhance the agribusiness and chemicals value chains.
These reports will serve as a key resource for enterprise buyers who wish to assess their current vendors, consider new providers, and explore available service offerings. ISG advisors will also utilize this information to make informed recommendations to buy-side clients, helping them navigate a complex service landscape.
The global economy has recently posed challenges to both the agribusiness and chemicals sectors. The chemicals industry, for example, faced a production downturn in the U.S. in 2023. However, this sector is expected to recover with anticipated annual growth rates of 2.2% in 2024 and 1.9% in 2025, driven by innovations that can address inventory cycles and improve productivity. Meanwhile, the Brazilian agribusiness sector has shown consistent growth, averaging 12% annually over the past two decades and contributing roughly 30% to Brazil’s GDP.
“Brazilian agribusiness, for instance, demands innovative technology applications along the value chain, including IT/OT integration, field sensors, and multifrequency network solutions,” noted Iain Fisher, director of ISG Provider Lens Research. “Our study also shows that roughly half of the chemicals industry had embarked on digital transformation by the end of 2022, with more than 60% reporting positive impacts. In both sectors, AI is expected to play an increasingly vital role in optimizing operations and value chains.”
ISG has distributed surveys to more than 80 providers within these industries. The research will feature seven service quadrants that cover the agribusiness and chemicals services most commonly sought by enterprises based on ISG’s experience with clients:
