Oceaneering International, Inc. announced today its acquisition of Global Design Innovation Ltd. (GDi), a UK-based leader in digital and software solutions. This acquisition aligns with Oceaneering’s strategy to enhance its digital capabilities and broaden its service offerings for clients worldwide.
As the only UK provider accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for remote visual inspection using point cloud data and photographic imaging, GDi brings advanced algorithms and data solutions. These capabilities, combined with Oceaneering’s engineering expertise, will strengthen asset management optimization for clients across industries such as oil and gas, utilities, and power generation. GDi’s Vision software suite complements Oceaneering’s portfolio, offering improved safety, data quality, integrity, and cost efficiency for global customers.
Roderick A. Larson, Oceaneering’s President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We are excited to deepen our collaboration with GDi, aligning with our strategic plan to expand our digital and software solutions.”
GDi director Karl Green added, “Joining Oceaneering allows us to leverage their global network and resources, continuing to provide the high-quality digital services our customers rely on.”
GDi will maintain its brand identity and operations under Oceaneering’s Integrity Management and Digital Solutions (IMDS) segment, with future financial results reported through this division.
