AGI Farm Conveyor Turns Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness in Canada

Ag Growth International (AGI) has launched a limited-edition pink UCX³ U-trough belt conveyor in Canada to support breast cancer awareness. Released during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AGI is encouraging Canadian farmers to bid on the fully loaded, one-of-a-kind conveyor (MSRP $87,156 CAD) or make a donation, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

“We’re proud to leverage what AGI does best—manufacturing equipment that moves crops from harvest to feed for animals and food for people—to support this vital cause that impacts families in both rural and urban communities,” said Paul Brisebois, Senior Vice President of AGI’s Canada-Farm division.

The “Conveyor for a Cause” campaign was conceived by AGI’s Swift Current manufacturing team in Saskatchewan, the heart of Canada’s agri-food exports. The AGI facility produces portable belt conveyors for handling a variety of commodities such as pulses, corn, soybeans, seed, and fertilizer, serving customers across North America.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission,” said Tom Firth, General Manager at AGI Swift Current, who spearheaded the project. “Just as AGI supports farmers with leading grain handling solutions, the Canadian Cancer Society is committed to advancing cancer prevention, treatment, and support for Canadians. This pink conveyor is our way of contributing to this important cause, benefiting both the farming community and the wider public.”

The campaign not only raises funds for CCS but also supports farm operations. The UCX³ belt conveyor, known for its u-trough design, efficiently moves up to 12,000 bushels per hour while maintaining grain quality and seed germination. This pink conveyor embodies AGI’s commitment to both agricultural excellence and social responsibility.

Rodger Lohman, CCS Supporter Engagement Specialist, expressed gratitude for AGI’s support. “Initiatives like this allow CCS to continue advancing breast cancer treatment and improving outcomes. Since 1986, the breast cancer death rate has been nearly halved, and the 5-year survival rate continues to increase. This progress wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of organizations like AGI and the communities they engage.”

AGI invites participation in the Conveyor for a Cause campaign until October 31, 2024. Farmers can bid on the pink conveyor, and the public is welcome to donate by visiting www.aggrowth.com/PinkConveyor. The winning bid will be announced in November.
