Kristian Bradshaw, a globally recognized energy attorney specializing in complex project development and financing, has joined Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP as a partner in Tokyo. His expertise encompasses energy, infrastructure, and the energy transition, with a strong focus on LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, clean fuels, solar, wind, geothermal, carbon capture and storage, and cleantech initiatives.

Bradshaw comes to the firm from White & Case LLP, where he served as a local partner. His career includes roles at a major Japanese energy company and a secondment at a Japanese bank.

- Advising an international energy fund on acquiring interests in several LNG projects in Australia.
- Assisting an international energy fund with a joint venture alongside a Japanese firm to develop a wind project in northern Japan.
- Counseling lenders on the development and financing of a floating LNG project in Mozambique.
- Guiding a Japanese company in the development and financing of a low-carbon ammonia production and export project in Texas.
- Advising on the development and financing of an LNG project in Indonesia.
- Supporting a Japanese consortium in developing and financing a low-carbon iron metallics production plant in Oman.
- Advising a buyer during negotiations to enter a long-term LNG agreement with Venture Global LNG for the purchase of LNG from the Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana.
- Assisting a Japanese-Korean consortium in the development of an IPP project in Vietnam.
Bradshaw is a member of both the Law Society of England and Wales and the Tokyo Bar Association. He is fluent in English, Japanese, French, and German. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge and completed his law studies at The College of Law and BPP Law School in London.
Bradshaw is the latest addition to Hunton Andrews Kurth’s global energy team. In September, the firm welcomed energy project finance partners Ayesha Waheed and Seyfi Can Kandemir to its London office. Last year, the firm also expanded by bringing in London-based corporate energy partner Philip Mace and energy and infrastructure disputes partners Maurice Kenton and David Hesse, along with counsel Edward Hamilton and special counsel Simon Schooling, who are all leading figures in the firm’s international arbitration team.
