Water Engineering Announces the Acquisition of Gotham Refining Chemical Corp.

A portfolio company of Nolan Capital, Water Engineering is expanding its national presence through the acquisition of Gotham Refining Chemical Corp. (“Gotham”), a premier provider of commercial and industrial water treatment services, including chemicals, consultations, site planning, and Legionella testing, primarily in the Northeast. Established in 1986 by Andrew Lewin and headquartered in Astoria, New York, Gotham has earned a strong reputation for delivering top-tier water treatment solutions across various sectors, from commercial buildings to municipal systems. As a trusted partner, Gotham is dedicated to providing tailored water treatment programs that enhance system longevity and maximize client satisfaction.

By integrating Gotham into its platform, Water Engineering will reinforce its presence and capacity to offer long-term service and maintenance solutions to customers in the Northeast. Co-founder and owner Andrew Lewin will continue with Gotham to facilitate a smooth transition. Both companies are committed to preserving the Gotham brand while retaining the existing team and operations, with plans to leverage resources from the broader WEI portfolio to support future growth.

Andrew has successfully built Gotham into a leading player in the water treatment industry by prioritizing top-notch service. Their offerings complement our comprehensive water treatment services, and their commitment to customer satisfaction aligns perfectly with the WEI family,” stated David Wagenfuhr, CEO of Water Engineering. “We are excited to welcome them as we enter this new growth phase. Our goal is to partner with companies that share our customer-centric approach, and we see that in Gotham. Moving forward, our focus will remain on delivering outstanding value to our clients and fostering innovation in all facets of our operations. We look forward to collaborating with their employees to expand the business by providing them with additional resources through the WEI platform. We anticipate a seamless integration that ensures our clients continue to receive the highest quality service without disruption. This acquisition reinforces our strategic partnership with Nolan Capital, which shares our vision for growth while emphasizing exceptional service and solutions. We are confident this acquisition will enhance our capabilities to serve existing clients and create new opportunities for industry growth and collaboration.
