Continental is set to invest in its first fully owned tire distribution center in the U.S., located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This new facility will enable Continental Tires the Americas to enhance both service levels and customer support. Designed for future expansion, the distribution center will incorporate modern technologies and align with the company’s long-term sustainability goals. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2024, with operations expected to start in 2026. The center will initially span 753,000 square feet, with the potential to expand to 1,255,000 square feet, and will have a capacity to store over 800,000 tires.
The location was strategically chosen following a network study by Continental, which identified the Dallas-Fort Worth area as a key distribution hub for the premium tire manufacturer. Currently, Continental serves the U.S. market through seven distribution centers.
“This facility marks our first owned tire distribution center in the U.S. and reflects our commitment to improving service levels and better supporting our customers,” said Bill Caldwell, Senior Vice President of Continental Passenger Car and Light Truck Tires in the U.S. “The new center is designed with future growth in mind and will feature advanced automation and sustainability technologies, including solar panels. It will serve as a model for future buildings with respect to automation and renewable energy.”
