Global technology firm FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, has partnered with Japanese transportation giant Subaru Corporation (Subaru) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive innovation and development for both companies. Under the MoU, FPT Software will utilize its technological expertise and global market experience to advance Subaru’s digital transformation. This includes upgrading factory software, modernizing legacy systems, automating operations, enhancing infrastructure and security, and integrating cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation into Subaru’s in-house information and in-car systems.
Additionally, FPT Software plans to create an ecosystem to provide a skilled workforce for Subaru by leveraging Vietnam’s rich talent pool and educational institutions. The partnership also includes initiatives for personnel exchanges and collaborative events, with a vision to promote electric vehicles (EVs) in both Vietnam and Japan, aligning with Subaru’s goal to have battery EVs account for half of its sales by 2030.
Do Van Khac, Senior Executive Vice President of FPT Software and CEO of FPT Japan, stated, “With our high-quality resources and advanced technological expertise, FPT Software is confident in our ability to support Subaru in achieving a leading position in manufacturing innovation and value creation. We plan to assign 200 personnel to assist Subaru by 2025 and anticipate a more expansive partnership.”
This collaboration underscores FPT Software’s role as a key player in digital transformation within the automotive sector and enhances its presence in Japan. The company, with over a decade of experience in automotive technology, boasts a global team of 4,000 experts and launched FPT Automotive in 2023. In Japan, FPT Software is the largest foreign-invested tech firm by workforce, with 3,500 employees across 17 local offices and innovation hubs, alongside nearly 15,000 employees internationally. Additionally, FPT Software chairs the Vietnam Association of Digital Transformation in Japan (VADX Japan), aiming to enhance competitiveness and establish a strong global presence for both Vietnam and Japan in the technology-driven future.
