STMicroelectronics Launches Compact 36V Operational Amplifiers for Industrial and Automotive Use

STMicroelectronics has unveiled the TSB952, a dual operational amplifier (op amp) offering a 52MHz gain-bandwidth and a supply current of just 3.3mA per channel at 36V. This makes it ideal for power-efficient designs.

The TSB952 supports a wide supply voltage range of 4.5V to 36V, providing flexibility and the ability to operate from various power sources, including industry-standard voltage rails. This wide range also helps systems handle large transient spikes and voltage drops. With rail-to-rail output swing, the op amps are perfect for applications requiring a wide dynamic range, such as signal conditioning for power supplies.

Capable of operating from -40°C to 125°C, the TSB952 is suitable for both industrial and automotive environments. Automotive-grade parts, qualified to AEC-Q101 standards, will be released later in 2024. All devices feature a 4kV ESD tolerance (human body model) and are EMI hardened.

The TSB952 is available in an ultra-small 3mm x 3mm DFN8 package with wettable flanks, saving space and enabling cost-effective PCB designs. It is also offered in the popular SO8 package with standardized pin assignments for easy upgrades to existing designs.

The industrial-grade versions in DFN8 and SO8 packages are currently in production. The automotive-qualified versions will be available in Q3 2024. Prices start at $0.96 for orders of 1000 units, and free samples can be requested from the ST eStore. The TSB952 is part of ST’s 10-year longevity program, ensuring long-term product availability.
