The German Heron TP (GHTP), developed by UAV PEO at the Directorate of Defense Research and Development at the IMoD and Israel Aerospace Industries, completed its inaugural flight in German airspace today (15.5.2024). This Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) was tailored to meet the specific needs of the German Ministry of Defence through a collaboration involving IAI, DDR&D, and Airbus.
The joint effort between Airbus, IAI, DDR&D, and the German Armed Forces ensured the creation of an RPAS boasting advanced performance and operational readiness, enhancing Germany’s military capabilities. The flight was attended by senior representatives from the German Air Force, DDR&D, Airbus, and IAI, marking a significant milestone toward achieving full operational capability.
