Tenaris is set to unveil its latest advancement in artificial lift technology at the annual conference of the Southwestern Petroleum Short Course Association (SWPSC), taking place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center in Texas from April 15-18. The SWPSC is a non-profit educational organization that leverages expertise from Texas Tech University’s engineering faculty and oil production specialists worldwide.
At booth #119, technical and commercial representatives from Tenaris’ sucker rods team will introduce the company’s newest solution tailored for unconventional wells in the U.S.: the AlphaRod® 2.0. Building upon the success of its predecessor, this upgraded series signifies a substantial leap forward in technology aimed at optimizing oil and gas extraction processes, particularly in the Permian and Williston basins. With advanced surface treatments and exceptional metallurgical properties, AlphaRod® 2.0 aims to redefine standards within the artificial lift market.
“AlphaRod® 2.0 embodies a fusion of quality, dependability, and performance. Its development stems not only from our dedication to innovation but also from invaluable insights gleaned from our customers’ field experiences. With state-of-the-art technology and engineering from Tenaris, AlphaRod® 2.0 strives to emerge as the preferred choice for oil and gas operators seeking to streamline their extraction processes,” remarked Martín Mayora, vice president of the sucker rods division.
In addition to AlphaRod® 2.0, the sucker rods team will spotlight TenFlowTM XF, which offers optimal hydrodynamics and polymer technology for wellbore equipment, and LaserShield®, the latest advancement in protective coating technology offering heightened fatigue resistance. They will also showcase sinker rods designed to safeguard tubing and rods from wear.
Following a $5 million USD investment, a new manufacturing line was inaugurated in August 2023 at the industrial center in Veracruz, Mexico, dedicated to the production of AlphaRod® 2.0. This expansion significantly augmented the manufacturing capacity of premium rods, which were previously exclusively manufactured in Argentina.
