Airbus Defence and Space has announced an agreement to acquire INFODAS, a prominent German company based in Cologne, specializing in cybersecurity and IT solutions primarily for the public sector, including defense and critical infrastructures. The completion of the transaction is contingent upon customary regulatory approvals and is anticipated to be finalized by the conclusion of 2024.
This strategic acquisition aligns with Airbus’ overarching goal to fortify its cybersecurity offerings, benefiting its clientele across Europe and worldwide. In the face of escalating cyber threats and the growing digitization and interconnectivity of its products and systems, bolstering cybersecurity stands as a paramount objective for Airbus’ advancement. Over recent years, Airbus has diligently cultivated its cybersecurity capabilities and knowledge, ensuring optimal safeguarding of its products, operations, clientele, and broader ecosystem, encompassing significant initiatives like the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
INFODAS, boasting approximately 250 employees and an annual revenue of approximately 50 million euros, operates not only from its Cologne headquarters but also maintains offices in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz. The company has earned certification from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, excelling in areas such as information system auditing, consulting, and penetration testing. INFODAS’ SDoT Security Gateway product line is authorized for classification levels up to secret and holds certifications compliant with Common Criteria standards, alongside various country-specific accreditations.
