NSF Strengthens Global Leadership Team to Accelerate Worldwide Human Health Advancements
NSF, a globally recognized leader in protecting and advancing human health, has announced a series of strategic leadership appointments designed to strengthen its global capabilities and accelerate execution of its long-term growth strategy, Blueprint 2030. These appointments underscore NSF’s commitment to scientific excellence, operational agility, and delivering greater value to clients worldwide across the food, water, and wellness sectors.
Effective January 1, Steve Haan has been appointed to an Officer role as Senior Vice President, Global Divisions. In addition, Vincent Boks has been named Vice President, Water, and Hampton Shiver has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Development. Together, these leaders will play a critical role in guiding NSF through an increasingly complex global operating environment while supporting its mission to safeguard public health.
Adapting to Increasing Industry Complexity
The food, water, and wellness industries are undergoing rapid transformation driven by emerging contaminants, increasingly complex global supply chains, evolving regulatory requirements, and heightened consumer expectations for safety, transparency, and trust. As these challenges intensify, NSF is evolving its organizational structure to enable faster decision-making, deeper scientific leadership, and more agile delivery of integrated solutions across its operations in more than 110 countries.
By strengthening its leadership team, NSF is positioning itself to better anticipate risks, respond to global health challenges, and support clients with innovative, science-based solutions that protect consumers and enable market access.
Steve Haan Appointed Senior Vice President, Global Divisions
In his expanded role, Steve Haan will oversee NSF’s global divisions, leading international teams responsible for advancing science-based programs that protect human health across diverse global markets. Haan joined NSF in 2024 as Vice President of Water and brings more than 25 years of technical, operational, and commercial leadership experience.
Prior to NSF, Haan held senior roles at global organizations including GE, Ecolab, and Nalco, where he led complex operations and drove growth across regulated industries. His broad expertise and global perspective will be instrumental in scaling NSF’s impact and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery worldwide.
Commitment to Client Value and Sustainable Global Growth
Pedro Sancha, President and CEO of NSF, emphasized that the organization continues to evolve to better serve its clients and partners.
As we grow and adapt, our focus remains on delivering integrated solutions that protect brands, enable market access, and build consumer trust,” Sancha said. “These leadership appointments reflect our commitment to investing in world-class talent to accelerate growth, scale our operations globally, and strengthen NSF’s role as a trusted partner in human health.”
Vincent Boks Named Vice President, Water
Vincent Boks will lead NSF’s global Water division, which plays a critical role in supporting safe drinking water systems, wastewater treatment, plumbing products, and solutions addressing emerging contaminants such as PFAS and microplastics.
Boks joined NSF in 2014 and has held a variety of leadership roles across sales, operations, and global program management. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Global Water Programs, where he helped expand NSF’s technical capabilities and global reach. In his new role, Boks will focus on advancing innovation, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the continued delivery of trusted water safety solutions worldwide.
Hampton Shiver to Lead Corporate Development
Hampton Shiver has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Development, where he will oversee NSF’s mergers and acquisitions strategy, business intelligence initiatives, and strategic growth planning. Shiver brings more than 20 years of experience across the aerospace, industrial, and energy sectors.
Before joining NSF, he held senior leadership roles at GE Aerospace and Credit Suisse, where he led complex transactions and strategic initiatives. His expertise will support NSF’s efforts to expand capabilities, enter new markets, and accelerate growth through disciplined investment and strategic partnerships.
Advancing the Blueprint 2030 Vision
According to Sancha, these leadership appointments represent a pivotal moment for NSF as it launches Blueprint 2030—an ambitious strategy designed to double the organization’s scale and solidify its position as a global leader in human health across food, water, and wellness.
Blueprint 2030 sets a clear path for growth, innovation, and impact,” Sancha said. “With this leadership team in place, NSF is well-positioned to deliver on our mission and help shape a safer, healthier future for communities around the world.”
