The World Manufacturing Convention 2025 is set to take place in Hefei, Anhui Province, from September 20 to 23, emerging as a premier global platform for innovation, collaboration, and the exchange of manufacturing expertise. This year, the event is themed “Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Future,” reflecting the growing role of smart technologies in reshaping global industry. The convention is expected to attract participants from more than 40 countries and regions, including major economies such as the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Notably, over half of the attendees will come from overseas, underscoring the convention’s status as a truly international gathering that fosters cross-border dialogue and cooperation in manufacturing.
The event is jointly hosted by the Anhui Provincial People’s Government, the National Advisory Committee on Building a Manufacturing Power, the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Global Alliance of SMEs. Over the years, the convention has become an important stage for showcasing China’s technological advances, attracting global manufacturers, and promoting the nation’s high-end manufacturing capabilities to an international audience. This year’s agenda features a number of high-profile activities designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, policy discussion, and industry collaboration. Among these are the 2025 Forum on Building a Manufacturing Power, which will focus on national strategies for industrial development, and the release of several influential reports, including the Top 500 Chinese Manufacturing Enterprises 2025, the Report on Ten Key Areas for Building a Manufacturing Power, and the 2025 Report on Digital Transformation Capability of Manufacturing Enterprises. Collectively, these initiatives aim to offer practical insights, “Chinese solutions,” and innovative approaches that contribute to global industrial progress.
Slovakia has been designated as the Guest Country of Honor at this year’s convention, symbolizing the event’s commitment to openness, inclusivity, and international collaboration. In addition to Slovakia’s participation, the program will feature several other key forums and networking opportunities. These include the 2025 International Chamber of Commerce Conference, the International Forum on Intelligent Manufacturing Cooperation, SME global expansion and industrial chain events, the Anhui-Germany SME Cooperation Forum, and the CIIE Foreign Enterprises (Anhui) Matchmaking Conference. Through these platforms, participants will explore trade and investment opportunities, form strategic partnerships, and deepen global industrial ties.
The convention’s exhibition spans a substantial 20,000 square meters, divided into ten themed zones that highlight diverse facets of modern manufacturing. Key exhibition areas include Major Country Manufacturing, Guest Province, International, Automotive, Intelligent Robotics, and Electronic Information, providing a comprehensive overview of contemporary industrial advancements. In addition, market-driven showcases focusing on Robotics and Industrial Automation, the Digital Economy, and Machinery & Equipment will offer practical insights into the latest technological trends. One of the most engaging features for visitors is the All-Domain Unmanned Systems Zone, located in Luogang Park. Here, attendees can interact with cutting-edge UAV flights, driverless vehicles, and other autonomous systems, offering a tangible experience of smart manufacturing in action.
Anhui Province, the host of the convention, is itself a hub of scientific innovation and technological achievement. The region has achieved world-class breakthroughs, such as the development of the “Artificial Sun” nuclear fusion project and the “Zuchongzhi III” quantum computer. Anhui also ranks fifth nationwide in China’s AI industry, highlighting its significance as a center for research, development, and industrial innovation. By hosting the World Manufacturing Convention 2025, Anhui not only demonstrates its domestic capabilities but also extends a global invitation for collaboration, exchange, and shared progress in intelligent manufacturing.
Ultimately, the World Manufacturing Convention 2025 represents more than a gathering of industry leaders—it is a celebration of human ingenuity and technological progress. By combining insights from leading global manufacturers with China’s domestic innovations, the event aims to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge, expertise, and technology converge. From showcasing the latest in robotics and digital transformation to facilitating trade partnerships and international cooperation, the convention embodies the future of smart manufacturing. It promises to be a landmark event where human creativity meets machine intelligence, creating a dynamic forum for shaping the future of the global manufacturing landscape.
