Honda Unveils New Outboard Motor Color at HISWA 2025

Honda Introduces New “Sporty White” Color Option for Four Large-Size Outboard Motors at HISWA In-Water Boat Show 2025

Honda has unveiled an exciting new development in its marine portfolio at one of Europe’s most prominent boating events. At the HISWA te Water (HISWA In-Water Boat Show) 2025, currently taking place from September 3 to 7 in Lelystad, the Netherlands, the company presented the world premiere of a new “Sporty White” color option for four of its largest outboard motors—the BF350, BF250, BF225, and BF200.

The addition of this new color reflects Honda’s strategy to blend cutting-edge engineering with bold styling, enhancing both the performance and visual appeal of its marine engines. Beginning September 3, 2025, the new Sporty White versions of all four models will be available for purchase in Europe. In Japan, the rollout will follow quickly, with the BF350 and BF250 hitting the market on September 4, 2025.

Distinctive Design with Racing DNA

The Sporty White color option is an evolution of Honda’s well-known “Grand Prix White” scheme, which has been a favorite among boating enthusiasts for years. The new version takes this concept a step further, adding a bold black stripe that produces a striking two-tone look. The result is a design that communicates both exclusivity and sportiness, setting these engines apart in the crowded marine marketplace.

Honda first introduced this concept back in 2019 with the previous generation of the BF250, and it was immediately embraced by customers, particularly in Europe and Japan. Boaters praised the design for its dynamic graphics and sleek lines, which made their vessels stand out on the water. Now, by expanding the Sporty White option across four major models, Honda is aiming to build on this popularity and bring a consistent, premium look to its flagship outboards.

The latest version of Sporty White has been carefully refined to suit the updated styling direction of Honda’s newest engines. While it retains the original racing-inspired design philosophy, the color scheme now complements the clean, simple lines of the latest motor housings. A key highlight is the prominent vertical horsepower rating displayed on the engine, paired with bold red Honda logos on both sides. Together, these design elements clearly emphasize Honda’s racing DNA, underscoring the brand’s longstanding association with motorsport excellence and premium performance.

Spotlight on the BF350: Flagship of Honda’s Marine Lineup

At the heart of Honda’s latest showcase is the BF350, which has quickly become the flagship model in the company’s outboard range. Launched in Japan in February 2024, the BF350 is powered by a newly developed V8 350-horsepower engine, engineered exclusively for marine use. This powerhouse delivers exceptional propulsion performance, making it ideal for larger boats that demand both strength and reliability.

The BF350 represents a major milestone for Honda’s marine business. By introducing a V8 outboard engine designed specifically for boating, Honda has demonstrated its ability to compete at the very top of the market, where both performance and luxury are expected. The new Sporty White version of the BF350 not only continues this legacy but also offers boat owners a more striking and personalized way to showcase their engines.

Expanded Lineup: BF250, BF225, and BF200

Alongside the BF350, Honda has also refreshed three additional models—the BF250, BF225, and BF200. These outboards were first introduced in Japan in May 2025 and share the same streamlined styling philosophy as the BF350. Each one has been engineered to deliver excellent fuel efficiency, durability, and reliability, making them versatile choices for a wide variety of applications.

From sport fishing to leisure cruising, these engines are designed to handle diverse marine lifestyles. Their durability ensures that they can withstand challenging conditions, while their fuel-efficient design helps keep operating costs under control—an increasingly important consideration for boat owners worldwide.

By offering the new Sporty White color across this trio of models, Honda provides customers with the opportunity to coordinate entire fleets with a consistent, premium look. This expansion reflects Honda’s broader goal of aligning its marine engines with customer preferences for both performance and personalization.

Meeting Customer Expectations in the Global Marine Market

Honda’s decision to expand the Sporty White option is not just about aesthetics—it’s a strategic move to respond to evolving customer expectations. In markets like Europe and Japan, boat owners increasingly value products that combine cutting-edge engineering with distinctive design. For many, an outboard motor is not just a functional necessity but also a statement of lifestyle and identity.

The new Sporty White option helps Honda reinforce its reputation for innovation and attention to detail. It underscores the company’s ability to bring motorsport-inspired flair to marine products, while also ensuring that these engines remain highly practical and reliable. This balance between form and function is central to Honda’s brand philosophy.
