Gogo Galileo HDX Connectivity Option Now Available for Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3
Customers awaiting delivery of the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3 business jet will now be able to equip their aircraft with the advanced Gogo Galileo HDX connectivity solution, marking a significant step forward in in-flight communication capabilities. This enhancement offers owners and operators an additional global connectivity option that delivers exceptional performance, ensuring passengers stay connected, productive, and entertained while in the air.
Originally unveiled in October 2024, the Citation CJ4 Gen3 is on track to enter service in 2026. The aircraft is designed and built by Textron Aviation Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT), and represents the next evolution of the already successful CJ4 platform.
Elevating Luxury and Productivity in the Sky
“Cessna Citation business jets are known for their luxury and productivity,” stated Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Textron Aviation. “Whether for work or entertainment, this robust solution ensures customers’ in-flight experience is as connected as their life on the ground.”
Gogo has been providing reliable connectivity for Cessna Citation jets for more than two decades, and the integration of Gogo Galileo HDX builds on this long-standing partnership. Based on Gogo’s proven AVANCE platform, the Galileo HDX solution introduces a low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite-based system with a fuselage-mounted HDX antenna. This configuration enables low latency, high-speed internet for passengers, providing consistent performance regardless of the aircraft’s route or destination.
A Proven Solution for Global Operations
For operators who frequently fly internationally or to remote areas, Gogo Galileo HDX ensures a seamless broadband experience across the globe. From video conferencing and VPN access for business travelers to streaming entertainment and staying in touch with family, the system delivers a ground-like connection in the air.
The Gogo Galileo HDX option was first announced as available for other models in Textron Aviation’s lineup—including the Cessna Citation Longitude, Citation Latitude, and Citation Ascend—in October 2024. Its expansion to the CJ4 Gen3 gives light jet operators access to the same premium inflight connectivity previously offered on larger jets.
About the Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen3
The Citation CJ4 Gen3 stands at the top of the light jet category in size and capability. Certified for single-pilot operation, it offers a combination of high speed, extended range, and competitive operating economics typically found in larger jets. This versatility makes it an attractive choice for individual owners, corporate flight departments, and a wide array of special mission operators.
Globally, the CJ4 has been deployed for diverse missions including air ambulance services, maritime patrol, search and rescue operations, and aerial surveying. The Gen3 upgrade builds on this legacy by introducing advanced avionics, enhanced automation, and modern passenger amenities.
At the heart of the CJ4 Gen3’s cockpit is the Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics suite, delivering a highly intuitive interface for pilots. Notably, the aircraft incorporates Garmin Emergency Autoland, a groundbreaking safety technology that can automatically land the aircraft in case of pilot incapacitation. Additionally, Garmin Autothrottles offer protection and precise power management throughout the flight.
From a performance standpoint, the CJ4 Gen3 boasts a maximum range of 2,165 nautical miles and a maximum payload of 2,200 pounds. The cabin is designed to accommodate up to 11 occupants, complemented by a 1,040-pound baggage capacity—ideal for both business and leisure travel.
