Scanfil and MB Elettronica Unite to Create a Leading European EMS Powerhouse
In a strategic move that reshapes the European electronics manufacturing landscape, Finnish electronics manufacturing services (EMS) leader Scanfil and Italian-based MB Elettronica have announced their decision to merge. The partnership will create a robust European EMS player with an expanded global footprint, diversified expertise, and a significantly enhanced customer offering.
The newly combined entity will operate 16 production facilities across four continents, making it one of the most globally positioned EMS companies in Europe. MB Elettronica currently runs four manufacturing plants located in Italy and employs approximately 500 skilled professionals. Once the integration is finalized, Scanfil’s total workforce will grow to over 4,500 employees. Importantly, all MB staff will continue in their existing roles under the new organization, now part of the Scanfil Group.

This combination is expected to enable extensive cross-selling opportunities and increase customer value. One of the key strategic outcomes of the merger will be the establishment of MB’s headquarters in Cortona, Arezzo as the center of excellence for Aerospace & Defense within the Scanfil Group. A Timeline for Transformation
The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
