The 2024 World Manufacturing Conference is scheduled for September 20 to 23, 2024, in Hefei, Anhui Province. This year, 31 prominent companies from 11 countries—including France, South Korea, Germany, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and Malaysia—will showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations in areas like intelligent manufacturing, automotive components, high-end equipment, and precision devices at the international exhibition area.
Among the highlights in the outdoor exhibition area, Alstom, a leading French firm, will present a full-scale model of its straddle-type monorail. Measuring approximately 26 meters long and weighing around 30 tons, this vehicle is designed for urban rail transit and can achieve speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. Notably, it boasts a construction timeline half that of traditional metro systems and costs only a third of their total expenses.
Alstom has made significant strides in the Chinese market, particularly in Anhui Province, where it has formed a joint venture with CRRC in Wuhu. This partnership is dedicated to the research, development, and production of rail transit vehicles, bringing advanced technology and expertise to the region and boosting the local rail transit industry.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Kurz Group will unveil a car interior design co-developed with Swarovski, integrating artificial crystal elements with sensor technology to create a new concept for intelligent and functional automotive interiors. The automotive sector is a key focus for Anhui as it aims to become a manufacturing powerhouse. Kurz has also established a production base in Hefei, enhancing its footprint in the Chinese market and supporting its automotive interior and packaging businesses.
South Korea’s XIRIUS will debut the world’s first intelligent factory management system utilizing AI, AR, and XR technologies, offering fresh ideas for the smart transformation of manufacturing. The conference will also feature a variety of Korean consumer products, with over 10 renowned companies showcasing items such as cosmetics, ginseng, beverages, food, and musical instruments like guitars.
France will be the guest country of honor at the 2024 World Manufacturing Conference, where for the first time, more than 50% of distinguished guests are expected to be international representatives. The event will include key activities such as the 2024 Belt and Road Global Chambers of Commerce and Associations Conference (GCCAC 2024), the Guest Country of Honor event, and various international friendship activities among provinces, states, and cities.
